Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dried whole grain spaghetti or linguini

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes

  • 1 cup pitted kalamata olives, halved

  • 14 cup drained capers

  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp + 12 tsp of zero-calorie Truvia Original Calorie-Free Sweetener Spoonable Jar***

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 12 tsp kosher salt

  • 14 cup chopped basil

Directions

  • 1.

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions for al dente. Drain well and set aside.

  • 2.

    In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium high heat. Sauté onion and garlic for 5 minutes or until fragrant. Add tomatoes, olives and capers and bring to a simmer. Cook 5–8 minutes or until heated through. Stir in vinegar, Truvía® Original Sweetener to taste, red pepper and salt.

    Add cooked pasta to sauce and cook 1–2 minutes or until pasta is cooked and has absorbed some of the sauce.

  • 4.

    Divide between plates or shallow bowls and garnish with basil.

The kalamata olives are fantastic and really add to the whole dish. Plus fewer calories and less sugar. What more could you ask for?
