Holiday Sangria Recipe

Ingredients
Simple Syrup
1 cup water
¼ cup of zero-calorie Truvia Original Sweetener Spoonable***
4 whole cloves
1-inch piece peeled ginger, cut into pieces
3 cinnamon sticks
Sangria
1 bottle Zinfandel
¾ cup simple syrup
⅓ cup Cointreau
2 Honeycrisp apples, cored and sliced
1 pear, cored and sliced
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 12-oz. bottle ginger beer
Directions

To prepare simple syrup, combine water, Truvia Original Sweetener, cloves, ginger and cinnamon in a saucepan. Gently simmer 15-20 minutes until the Truvia Original Sweetener dissolves and flavors blend.

Remove from heat and cool completely. The simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

To make sangria, combine Zinfandel, simple syrup and Cointreau in pitcher or carafe. Stir to combine. Add apples, pear, orange and lemon.

To serve, fill 6 glasses with ice. Divide sangria between glasses and top each with ginger beer.
*This sangria has 200 calories and 11 grams of sugar per serving compared to the sugar-sweetened version which has 250 calories and 23 grams of sugar.
