Apple Gallette made with Truvia

Ingredients

  • 6 cups apples, thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp fresh lemon zest

  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 13 cup of zero-calorie Truvia Original Calorie-Free Sweetener Spoonable Jar***

  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

  • 18 tsp nutmeg, ground

  • 12 tsp Diamond Crystal® kosher salt

  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 pie crust

  • 2 Tbsp butter

Directions

  • 1.

    Assemble all ingredients; preheat oven to 425° F.

  • 2.

    Place apples in bowl, top with lemon zest and juice; set aside.

  • 3.

    In mixing bowl, place Truvia Original Sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, kosher salt, and cornstarch; blend well; pour over apples; mix well.

  • 4.

    Place pie crust dough on lightly floured surface; roll out; transfer to parchment-lined sheet pan.

  • 5.

    Place apple mixture into center of pie crust; leaving 112 inch border around edge of crust; place butter pats on top of apples.

  • 6.

    Flip up crust edge towards middle, pleating as you fold up.

  • 7.

    Bake in 425° F oven for 45-50 minutes; rotate 180° half way through baking.

  • 8.

    Cool on wire rack; serve warm or at room temperature.

*This apple galette has 180 calories and 3 grams of sugar per serving as compared to a full-sugar apple galette that has 270 calories and 27 grams of sugar per serving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious I made this a few days ago and OH MY GOODNESS it was delicious. The apples were so moist and the crust so flaky and good. It was a perfect combination of sweet and tart. It took only a few hours before my family had consumed the whole thing. Add a little ice cream or eat it alone, either way you will love it.
