Brown Sugar Cupcake with Brown Sugar Frosting

Topped with creamy brown sugar frosting, these sweet cupcakes developed by Baking Star contest finalist Sara Sicotte will melt in your mouth. Ingredients

Frosting

  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 14 cup Truvia Brown Sugar Blend

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

CUPCAKES
  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 350° F.

  • 2.

    Mix dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  • 3.

    In a separate large mixing bowl whisk together all wet ingredients.

  • 4.

    Slowly mix in the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and stir well.

  • 5.

    Fill cupcake liners about 23 full and bake for 20 min.

FROSTING
  • 6.

    Beat all ingredients well in a large mixing bowl and frost cupcakes.

  • 7.

    Refrigerate leftover in a sealed container.

*These cupcakes have 270 calories and 24 grams of sugar per serving compared to the full-brown sugar version which have 310 calories and 44 grams of sugar per serving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I made the Brown Sugar Cupcake's for Easter this year, I was amazed at how easy this recipe was. While making these Cupcake's, I had family over. The smell of the Cupcake's drew everyone to the Kitchen, they was all sitting there waiting for the Delicious Smelling Cupcake's to come out of the oven. Within 5 minutes, the Cupcake's disappeared. I had to make another batch of the Cupcake's, this time with the Brown Sugar Frosting that goes with the recipe for Easter Dinner. Everyone including myself thought the Cupcake's was scrumptious! Everyone wanted the recipe or more Cupcake's to take home!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very tasty and easy to make This was a good cupcake. Enjoyable to make. My daughter and I had a fun time making this recipe. I use Truvia in a lot of recipes. Really can't taste the difference when using in place of sugar. Would definitely make this recipe again.
